Relocating a production line is an undertaking where preparation decides success. Below are the most important steps worth planning before dismantling begins.
1. Inventory and documentation
Start with a list of all machines, their dimensions and weight. Take photos of installations and connections – they will make reassembly easier. Gather the technical documentation for the equipment.
2. Route and transport planning
The size of the machines, the load-bearing capacity of roads and access to the hall at the new location determine the choice of transport. For long distances, consider sea or air freight.
3. Securing the machines
Precision machines require hermetic packing or transport crates. Good protection means a lower risk of damage and later service costs.
4. Assembly and start-up
After transport the machines must be positioned, levelled and started up. Allow time for testing before production returns to its normal rhythm.
